"Australia’s families face different pressures – from balancing the weekly budget to making sure the kids have the things they need for school. Many families sometimes need a bit of extra assistance to help lighten the load.
Like many parents I’ve experienced the pressures that come with raising a family and having a career. As the Minister for Families, I would like to hear from families – every day mums and dads – about the issues they face.
Over the next few weeks, Australian parents have the chance to participate in an online forum run by online democracy group OurSay.
Through this forum, parents can have their say and vote on the issues that matter most to them. The five people who ask the most popular questions will sit down for a chat about these issues over morning tea with me in Sydney next month.
This online forum will give families the opportunity to tell me about the issues they face every day – where people need help, whether the government’s measures are making a difference, and what families would like to know more about.
If you know of families who would be interested in participating, please help spread the word and encourage people to have their say. You can join the online forum at www.oursay.org.
I look forward to hearing what matters most to Australian families in the coming weeks."
