The purpose of this session is to get feedback from carer consultants who work in the clinical sector and carers and family members who have had experience in getting a second opinion. In particular, this session will include discussion of what they see as the key strengths and challenges of the current second psychiatric opinion scheme and how it might be improved in the future. Further consultation will occur following this session as part of the planning for a Second Psychiatric Opinion Scheme under the new Mental Health Act.
